When a Wedding Planner Weds: To Tent or Not to Tent
Whenever I envisioned our wedding, I envisioned it under the stars, no tent in sight. Ideally, the weather would cooperate and we’d have no worries in the world. One could hope right? Realistically, I knew we’d have to look into having a tent at least for backup but it didn’t mean it had to be our plan A. I really could not envision a white “ceiling”, if you will, and although draping is lovely, it just wasn’t the vibe I was going for. Jordan and I had to sit down to weigh out the pros and cons of deciding what to do when it came to tenting the yard or not.
Here is a list of “must-haves” I’d have to be able to check off in order to move forward with a tent as our Plan A and not just as a back up.
- The tent had to be a clear-span tent. No ifs, ands or butts, the only way I would agree to putting up a tent would be to get a clear span tent so you could still see the sun and the stars.
- The tent had to be affordable. While I know how big of a deal it is to have a tent in case of *fingers crossed* rain, I had to find an affordable clear span tent, otherwise I would have stuck to an ugly, not out of budget back up tent.
- It had to look presentable and give me options for decor. Even though it’s a clear span top, it’s still a roof.
- The tent company had to agree to set the tent up a few days in advance so I could be sure I’d have enough time to set up the decor ahead of time.
Guess what? We found a tent that met all of my criteria! Niagara Tents and Events has been amazing to work with so far! They are very affordable, professional and they were the ones who told me they would set up early, knowing I was doing all of my own decor!
