Two Thousand Seventeen: A Niagara Wedding Planner’s Year in Review
Happy New Years Eve Friends! I would have loved to post this reflection sooner this year, but we had weddings all the way up to this week, including last night! 2017 was a crazy year for us, wedding-wise and personally!
We actually kicked off 2017 with a New Years Eve, floral-only wedding. While it was technically a 2016 job for us, the party lasted well past midnight for them! We had 3 more floral-only small weddings after that. One was featured here.
The first styled shoot of the year was at Back 10 Cellars and I’m still totally in love with the photos.
We kicked off our planning season with a sweet elopement at Vineland Estates, with Photos done by Ally Allison Photography
Our first big wedding of the year was at Kurtz Orchards, on the Market Side with Lauren and Trevor. It was HOT this day, but we pulled through and made some magic happen!
Our next big wedding was our now friends Dana and Eric. You may recognize Dana from Hell’s Kitchen season 10 and also this year’s current All-Star’s season. Not only were they great clients, they became great friends as well! We had the first ever wedding at the Hare and Wine Co winery and it turned out spectacularly!
In between big weddings we provided flowers for the Club Roma showcase as well as a few additional floral-only weddings, a small photo shoot and a sweet bridal shower at Vineland Estates.
In July I had a few floral only weddings, and they were magical.
Our last planning and floral wedding before our mid-summer break was Julie and Mark at Club Roma. Julie had envisioned a fairytale theme, and that’s exactly what she got. There were close to 300 guests at this wedding and the day went off without a hitch.
At the beginning of August Jordan and I flew to Victoria, BC to sight see, visit friends and have a mini vacation. He also proposed to me, so it’s truly a time I will never forget.
The week we returned home, I had 3 weddings coming up, 2 floral-only and 1 planning with florals. It was a little bit insane to say the least, but all three weddings were absolutely lovely.
We also managed to squeeze in our own engagement photo session!
September was our busiest month with five weddings! 4 planning with florals, 1 floral only and a small corporate event.
Our first wedding of September was at the Hare and Wine Co. Tina and Patrick came all the way from Denmark with 10 of their closest friends and family
We also had our Bride Janell and her family come all the way from the Florida Keys in the same weekend.
Stephanie and Stephen were next with a sweet wedding at Queenston Heights.
Christy and Cory had the loveliest wedding at Sue Ann Staff with rose gold vases and draping ivory and blush florals.
To end September, we had a floral-only wedding at Club Roma and we provided florals for a VIP dinner at The Hare and Wine Co.
Just when we thought we were done with our busy wedding season, we booked a full planning wedding for the middle of October at the Hare and Wine Co.
November was our time to rest so of course we designed and arranged a photo shoot to be creative and get to play with ideas that were new or may not be something clients think are trendy (yet!).
I also attended a one-on-one workshop with Rhiannon Bosse.
Last night we had our last planning with floral wedding of the year at the Price of Wales in Niagara on the Lake.
2017 was a great year and I’m so thankful for the wonderful clients who trusted their day in my hands and for all of the new friends and people I met. I’m so looking forward to 2018.
