Niagara Wedding Planner- Vendor Love: Candy by Katie

Candy Buffet Niagara Falls

I met Katie at my WPIC training and let me tell you, she is really lovely! Katie specializes in anything sweet! From specialized candy buffet tables, to favours, or edible centerpieces, she is your girl! Katie does not just fill some bowls with candy, she creates a design, a piece of art work to wow your guests. I recently sat down with Katie to go over exactly what she does and how she does it.

What services do you offer?

If it involves sugar, we offer it! Our most popular services are candy
bars and dessert tables with a close second going to favours. Just
recently we started creating edible centrepieces as well!

What makes your service so unique?

We make everything custom to your event or tastebuds! Our passion is
creativity and we thrive on making each and every service more of an ‘art
installation’ at your event, giving people lots to look at and talk about!

Why should a bride and groom hire you rather then creating a candy buffet

by themselves?

IT’S NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS! The investment made for the jars, scoops,

bags and decor alone could put your budget way over let alone the retail
prices you’re going to pay at bulk food stores. Our price is an all
inclusive one and it means you get all of those things I mentioned above
plus we set everything up and tear everything down at the end of the
wedding. All you need to do is give us some inspiration to create and
we’ll do the rest!

What is your most favourite item that you offer?

Candy apples! The one part of the family business that really has made a
huge impact on Candy by Katie has been these little sweet delights. It’s
more of a sentimental reason…..my Dad actually makes them when we get an
order. It reminds me of when I was young and around him at some of the
festivals he worked and stores he owned.  He’s too scared I’m going to
burn myself so he makes them and I wrap them. The best father/daughter
moment I could ask for!

Niagara Wedding Planner- Stand Out Ideas: Double-Duty Center Piece Options

If you’re looking for a way to trim a few dollars off your budget, try some of these double-duty center piece options which also check another task off your list.

1.Candy “Buffet” Centerpiece

no flower or candle centerpiece

If you are thinking of having a candy buffet at your wedding, consider putting a few dishes in the center of each table to create a beautiful and interactive centerpiece. If you put different candies at each table, your guests will be encouraged to get up and talk to eachother.

2. Bread Basket Center piece

Unique Center pieces

From Stylemepretty

Create a gorgeous and edible center piece out of fresh, crusty bread, baguettes, and breadsticks in a bakset with oils and herbs for dipping. Decorate with some fresh herb pots you can give out at the end of the night. This is a great option for “Foodie” couples, plus the herbs will give off a nice fragrant aroma.

3. Favour-Tower Center Piece

double duty center pieces

Stack pretty favour boxes in the center of your table to double as a centerpiece and favours for the table. Place them on a vintage cake plate for extra specialness.

4. Cupcake Bouquet Centerpiece

Edible Wedding Centerpiece

By Designer Delights

A Cupcake bouquet is a great way to save some cash and have a unique centerpiece. It mocks the traditional floral arrangement, but adds the benefit of yummy cake! Plus you don’t need a cake now!
