Niagara Wedding Planner- Wedding Fashion: Wedding Dress Fabric Guide

Choosing your dress will help determine the feel of your wedding. Guests will dress accordingly to what you wear. You can set the tone of the decor by choosing the fabric and style of your dress. Below is a guide to see what fabrics and textures might work for the overall feel you are hoping to set.

Lace: Lace is a huge trend right now with all of the “vintage” inspired wedding themes. Lace

doesn’t just have to have a vintage feel, it can also be used for a dress with a very feminine and romantic feel.

Silk: Silk is one of the most popular and expensive wedding dress materials. Silk can be used on many styles of dresses. My favourite is a simple body hugging dress, accentuating your curves.

Satin: Shiny fabric like silk but more affordable.

Tulle: Tulle is used to make the big ball gown skirts that create a wonderfully romantic and formal look.

Organza: Organza is similar to tulle, but less coarse and flows more nicely.
